Motorcycle Safety Awareness Week

Motorcycle Safety Awareness Week

FDOT has been busy this spring participating in many motorcycle safety events around the beautiful sunshine state. In May, FDOT along with the Motorcycle Safety Coalition participated in an outreach event at Thunder Beach in Panama City, a popular motorcycle destination event to promote motorcycle safety.  At this event, FDOT distributed educational materials and tested driving skills with a motorcycle training simulator, SMARTtrainer.

A new anti-speeding public service announcement for motorcycle safety, “The Road is not a Race Track,” was filmed. Also, look for updated FDOT public safety campaigns such as “Drink+Ride = Lose” Don’t Drink and Ride campaign, “Be Smart Be Seen” for motorcycle riders, and “Look Twice Save a Life” campaign, increasing motorists awareness of motorcycles.
