Citrus County Transit Center Ribbon Cutting

District Seven Secretary Paul Steinman had the opportunity to speak at the official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the brand new Citrus County Transit Center in Lecanto this past month. This $2 million, 9,000-square-foot transit facility will serve as the transportation hub in Citrus County and was built for efficiency, safety, and accountability to the riders of Citrus County and potential riders in the neighboring counties of Hernando and Pasco.  FDOT had the available funding from a Section 5311 grant. Citrus County jumped on the opportunity and was ready to go with this shovel-ready project. Citrus County’s willingness is noteworthy, commendable, and is deserving of recognition. The event served to celebrate the cooperation and coordination between FDOT and the county. “It is important to have a facility like this for potential growth,” Steinman said. “We are consistently looking for ways that will allow us the ability to be champion advocates for our citizens.  We strive to be bold and innovative at meeting our mission.”
