The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) conducted a week-long campaign focused on pedestrian safety at the Florida State University (FSU) and University of Florida (UF) campuses. These events were geared towards promoting awareness of pedestrian and bicycle safety. Events were held during rivalry week, November 23-30, 2013, in Tallahassee and Gainesville.

Events, educational giveaways, and a drawing for four Schwinn bicycles were held throughout the week at the FSU basketball game, UF basketball game, FSU v. UF basketball game, FSU volleyball game, and concluded with the UF v. FSU game at UF.  To win a bike, over 1,000 surveys were conducted to gather information on people’s knowledge of pedestrian and bicycle safety laws.  Other free giveaways included tip cards and over 1000 FSU Seminole and UF Gator logo T-shirts featuring the Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow and Put It Down logos.
