Major bridge work ended 2014 and greeted 2015 as three projects saw huge bridge beams placed at sites along the Wekiva Parkway in Lake County, the Interstate 4 widening project near Daytona Beach, and the U.S. 17-92 flyover project in Casselberry. The I-4 and Casselberry projects required nighttime detours and lane closures, which went smoothly. In the case of the Casselberry flyover project, the beams placed over State Road 436, were among the biggest in Florida, coming in at more than 200 feet long. Construction along the first phase of the Wekiva Parkway in Lake County and the U.S. 17-92 flyover in Casselberry is set to conclude this year. The I-4 widening project in the DeLand-Daytona Beach area concludes in 2016.
