Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), which partners with FDOT and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FDHSMV), reaches out to students to educate about traffic safety through FDOT grants. SADD recently presented at a high school in Tampa on DUI and teen traffic safety. There were 1,500 teens with various non-stop events including a DUI checkpoint. SADD presented a keynote message to the entire group and held four workshops for 400 teens.
These types of hands-on educational experiences are just one way FDOT, SADD, and law enforcement partners work to drive down fatalities on our roadways. It is part of the goal of delivering a fatality-free and congestion-free transportation system.
