The Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program held its yearly Awards Reception, during which FDOT’s second gubernatorial fellow, Cody Farrill, was honored with the Jeb Bush Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Motorcycle Safety Month
The Ride Smart motorcycle is used to raise awareness for motorcycle safety at events throughout the state. The motorcycle was staged in the FDOT lobby to bring attention to motorcycle safety for both motorcyclists as well as other motorists.
Temple Terrace Cyclovia
Well over 1,000 participants were on hand at the city of Temple Terrace’s first-ever Cyclovia event, enjoying food trucks, interactive street games, bicycle/pedestrian safety training presentations, and several fun and educational kid-friendly activities.
Florida School Crossing Guard Summit
May 7, 2015 was the first ever Florida School Crossing Guard Summit, held at the FDOT Turnpike Headquarters at the Turkey Lake Service Plaza in Ocoee for a day of learning and networking.
Do-It-Yourself Bicycle Repair Stations
A network of do-it-yourself bicycle repair stations continues to grow throughout the Tampa Bay area. The newest station was recently installed at a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus stop located directly in front of the District Seven Office.
