Jacksonville is covered in Alert Today Alive Tomorrow messages and signs as part of a rollout from November 2013 to summer of 2014 to educate motorist, pedestrians, and bicyclists about the safety campaign.
Secretary Ananth Prasad’s Bicycle/Pedestrian Focused Initiative Group has been awarded the national safety Peter K. O’Rourke Special Achievement Award by the Governors Highway Safety Association.

Approximately 70,000 people attended Mayfaire by-the-Lake 2013, the setting for FDOT District One’s rollout of “Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow.” FDOT distributed approximately 9,000 items with the campaign’s message.
The Dori Slosberg Foundation and GEICO hosted a 500-mile bicycle tour to raise awareness of traffic safety. The tour started in Orlando and visited Tampa and Gainesville before concluding in Tallahassee.
FDOT, FHP, and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are trying to draw awareness to a new campaign supported through a police crackdown, TV and bus ads, social media, and local public education activities.
FDOT sponsored No. 87 Alert Today Alive Tomorrow Toyota driven by Joe Nemechek in the DRIVE4COPD 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway.
