This year, several FDOT districts observed National Bring Your Child to Work Day. Bridges were built, wildflowers were planted, traffic was discussed, and safety was practiced by children across the state.
FDOT Assistant Secretary Brian Blanchard stood on the Florida Capitol steps with partners for Road Safety Week to highlight safety. The event was hosted by the Dori Slosberg Foundation and coincided with the Safe Teen Driving Safety Summit.
On April 16, a Silver Alert was issued for Gary Belleisle out of North Fort Myers. Districts One, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and the Turnpike immediately activated their dynamic messaging systems and highway advisory radio.
