The Florida Scenic Highways Program is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The Town of Penney Farms located recently celebrated its 90th anniversary in part by conducting their 2nd Annual Penney Farms Historic 5K Run. The race course included the tree-lined residential streets of the J.C. Penney Memorial Scenic Highway.
The District Seven office and the local communities of St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach celebrated the completion of the Pinellas Bayway Bridge (S.R. 682) with the “Bayway Bridge Bash and 5K Run.”
To promote pedestrian and bicyclist safety, FDOT partnered with Scott Lagasse, Jr., who drove the #29 Alert Today Alive Tomorrow Toyota Camry in the DRIVE4COPD 300 Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway.
FDOT and the Tampa Port Authority came together to hold the commemorative “Run the Connector 5K” to celebrate the approaching opening of the I-4/Selmon Expressway Connector project in Tampa.
