On September 22, 2015, a delegation from Puerto Rico’s Highway and Transportation Authority traveled to FDOT’s State Materials Office to learn about the latest innovations in Florida’s asphalt, geotechnical, pavements and structural processes.
The Kennedy Draw Bridge in downtown Tampa was shut down early in the morning hours when a cable connected to a drill rig snagged onto the bridge structure. The City of Tampa and the District Seven Bridge Office rushed to stabilize the rig immediately.
Florida’s rail safety inspection program was named 2nd best nationally over the past year by the Federal Railroad Administration.
