For decades, the Florida Department of Transportation provided a lifeline to stranded motorists along Florida’s Turnpike and the Interstate System via a comprehensive system of Motorist Aid Call Boxes.
On April 16, a Silver Alert was issued for Gary Belleisle out of North Fort Myers. Districts One, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and the Turnpike immediately activated their dynamic messaging systems and highway advisory radio.
