J.C. Penney Farms Scenic Highway Run
The Florida Scenic Highways Program is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The Town of Penney Farms located recently celebrated its 90th anniversary in part by conducting their 2nd Annual Penney Farms Historic 5K Run. The race course included the tree-lined residential streets of the J.C. Penney Memorial Scenic Highway.
Secretary’s Employee Work Day

Patriot Day
District Two recognized Patriot Day on September 11 at the District Office and Jacksonville Urban Office. The remembrance began that morning at the District Office and in Jacksonville when our nation’s flag was lowered to half-staff, followed by the pledge of allegiance.
Puerto Rico Delegation Visit
On September 22, 2015, a delegation from Puerto Rico’s Highway and Transportation Authority traveled to FDOT’s State Materials Office to learn about the latest innovations in Florida’s asphalt, geotechnical, pavements and structural processes.
Stop on Red Week 2015
Alert Today Florida and Florida’s Safe Mobility for Life Coalition partnered with the National Coalition for Safer Roads to increase driver and pedestrian safety knowledge about the dangers of running red lights.
Take Your Child to Work Day
This year’s event was a great success as the children learned not only how their parents contribute to FDOT, but also how the state transportation system is designed, maintained, and coordinated.
